Skipper

The skipper has dual characteristics of moth and butterfly.
Wing spots appear as eyes of two or more creatures to ward
off a would-be predator.

You are neither butterfly nor moth,
Yet bear the morphology of both,
For you lack sun or color of night,
But crepuscular glow at twilight,
Scaring enemies and the innocent
With eyespots false and phosphorescent,
Among flowers, after sunset, bloom -
Your faithful hosts and your home.~
