Exile and Return of the Forest Deities

Good Spirits - they are deities guarding Nature,
residing in the forest, the rivers, lakes and seas.
They are the keepers of Nature.
Dr Abe V Rotor

Act.1 – Rise of the Forest

The sun throws its life-giving light and heat:
Rise the clouds over the hills and far away,
‘Till they fall and the rain beats and flows down the rivers,
Into the lakes, down the sea, nourishing life on its way.

It is a chain reaction a thousand ways, with neither beginning
Nor end, gas exchange to reversible reactions in circles,
Inorganic to organic matter, and back,
Non-living to living, in unending life cycles.

Seeds wake up, brood ventures into the open world,
A bird sings as the sun’s energy flows through every creature
In a most amazing pattern which makes the biosphere-
The highest order we call Nature.

Good Spirits - they are deities guarding Nature,
Residing in the forest, in the rivers, lakes and seas.
They are the keepers of Nature.
And they are indeed a happy lot, always at ease.

In the forest they sing with the breeze and stream;
Whisper love notes in the wind and under the bow,
Fly with the bees, swim with the fish, hang fruits on trees,
Keep floods away, bring in the rain and rainbow.

The forest is their home, their only home,
Where too, our ancestors once lived as their friend.
For eons of time, they and the deities peacefully
Lived with Nature for virtually no end.

The deities help man gather food and wood,
Catch fish in the stream, hunt wild animals,
Discover medicine, compose songs, write folklore
But only as he needed these, and nothing more.  ~
